From a young English boy taken from the streets of London to serve on a merchant ship, grows the patriarch of the Merchant family. The generations to follow, with their close alliances to the Silver family and the fellowship of the Watchers, create legacies of values and valuables, principles and faith, strength and persistence. We see the royal flaws and man’s inhumanity to man, and we see the Divine qualities of those caused to rise above the wreckage of the world. This book contains the sources of the things we’ve seen elsewhere in the series.

Author’s Note: This book is the best in the series. And because it begins at the beginning, I plan to make it “Book 1” when published in its next edition. This book supports everything, explains everything, and for me it changed everything.
